Jharkhand News: Fake Facebook profile created in name of East Singhbhum DC

Jamshedpur, May 21: The East Singhbhum district administration has issued a public alert following the creation of a fake Facebook ID impersonating Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal.

According to officials, the fraudulent account was set up by an unidentified individual and is being used to mislead the public, an act deemed a serious cybercrime.

People have been urged to exercise caution while interacting on social media. If anyone receives a friend request or suspicious message from a profile claiming to be Mittal, they should immediately report and block the account.

The administration has requested that such incidents be promptly reported to the Cyber Cell, Jamshedpur, or the District Public Relations Office.

Residents are also reminded not to share personal information online without proper verification.

An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
