Dhanbad, Nov 29: Navnita Saha, a junior research fellow in the Department of Applied Geology at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, has been honoured with the prestigious Early Career Research Award.
The award recognises her exceptional oral presentation at the International Conference on Meteoroids, Meteors, and Meteorites – Messengers from Space (MetMess), which took place at the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad from November 22-24.
Saha’s presentation, titled “Characterization of Hydrous Sulphate in Metanomadh Formation: A Martian Analog,” showcased her groundbreaking research on the geological characteristics of hydrous sulphate minerals.

This research is crucial for understanding Martian geology and the potential for past water activity on Mars, contributing significantly to the field of planetary science and deepening our understanding of extraterrestrial environments.
