Dhanbad, Oct 23: A delegation from the Giridih district chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will meet Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Vimal Kumar today, demanding the immediate arrest of those accused in the attack on Dubey Nursing Home in Jamua.
Doctors in Giridih have expressed deep frustration, pointing out that even after five days of the incident, the police have failed to arrest the culprits. The attack, which took place on October 19, left hospital staff injured after a mob assaulted them over a dispute related to treatment priority.

Mob Attack Over Treatment Dispute
According to reports, the incident occurred when Dr. Rajesh Dubey prioritized the treatment of a critically ill two-month-old infant over other patients, triggering anger among the waiting crowd. The mob later attacked the nursing home and its staff.

Following the incident, FIRs were registered by both parties at the Jamua police station, and investigations are underway. However, the delay in arrests has sparked resentment among the medical fraternity.
Doctors Voice Concern Over Security
“Doctors across the district are feeling insecure after the incident as no police action has been taken so far. A delegation of senior doctors will meet the SP to request prompt action and help restore confidence among the medical community,” said Dr. Ritesh Sinha, Secretary of IMA Giridih district chapter.
He further noted that despite being informed, top officials of the IMA state body have not yet condemned the attack, which has added to the discontent among local doctors.
