Dhanbad, March 20: Dhanbad police have arrested an inter-state cyber fraudster from a government quarter in CRO Colony, Digwadih, under Jorapokhar police station area, located about 17 km from the district headquarters.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as 24-year-old Ayush Kumar Sharma, ran an institution named Prerna Consultancy and allegedly duped students by promising improved academic results and admission to reputed colleges.

Sharma also operated as the group admin of the Bihar Public Service Commission Teacher Recruitment Examination (BPSC TRE) forum, where he reportedly deceived people by falsely assuring better exam results.

Two cases of fraud, amounting to ₹60,000, had been registered against him on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
Acting on the directive of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HP Janardhanan, a special police team was formed to investigate the matter. Following a raid, the team apprehended Sharma and seized the mobile phone he used to carry out the fraudulent activities.
