Jharkhand News: Loyola School Jamshedpur raises NCC unit

Jamshedpur, April 4: Loyola School added another milestone to its rich legacy with the raising of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit on Friday.

The NCC Raising Ceremony was graced by the Commanding Officer of the Indian Army, Colonel Vinay Ahuja, as the Chief Guest. Joining him were ADM Col. Prem Chandra Jha, Subedar Major Ravin Khandal, and three other officers, adding to the event’s prestige.

The event commenced with the soul-stirring official NCC song, setting an inspiring tone for the proceedings. Following this, Fr. Vinod Fernandes, S.J., Principal of Loyola School, extended a warm welcome to Col. Ahuja, who was then felicitated by Fr. K.M. Joseph, S.J., Rector of Loyola School. To commemorate the occasion, Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice-Principal (Senior Section), presented a memento to Col. Ahuja as a token of gratitude.

Kripa Bhatia, a student of Loyola School, spoke on the importance of NCC in shaping future leaders. This was followed by a presentation by GCI Ruchita Gautam, highlighting the core values and mission of the NCC. The much-awaited moment arrived when Col. Ahuja officially declared the NCC unit open, marking a new chapter of unity, discipline, and patriotism for the school.

In his address, Col. Ahuja encouraged students to actively participate in NCC activities, emphasizing the values of discipline, service, and leadership. His speech left an indelible impact on the young minds, inspiring them to uphold the NCC motto: “Unity and Discipline.”

Loyola School formally inaugurated its NCC Office. The event also saw the unveiling of the NCC Board near Gate No.1.

“With the formal induction of NCC at Loyola, the institution embarks on a journey that promises to empower students with skills, resilience, and a strong sense of duty towards the nation. The NCC Raising Ceremony at Loyola School was not just an event but the beginning of a transformative experience that will nurture the spirit of leadership and patriotism in generations to come,” said an official.
