Victim’s wife left home three months ago

Though Laltu was a resident of Shankarda village in the adjoining Potka block, he would stay at a rented house in Govindpur to work at a local factory.

According to Govindpur thana OC, Prakash Kumar Rajak, Laltu’s wife had fled the home three months ago leaving her husband and children.

“Ever since the woman disappeared, Laltu would find it difficult to look after his children besides doing his job. This was the reason that he had become extremely depressed. He might have taken the drastic step due to the depression,” said Rajak while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

The police officer said despite they got this version from Laltu’s mother and sisters, they are investigating the real reason behind the tragedy.
