Jamshedpur, March 27: In a proactive endeavour to address mental health concerns and provide vital emotional support, Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre in Jamshedpur organised an awareness program at the Mukhi Social Welfare Center, near Tata Football Academy.

This initiative was conducted at the behest of Saikat Mukherjee from the Help Foundation, aiming to empower the Mukhi community with essential knowledge and resources.

The awareness programme focused on equipping participants with crucial information on stress management techniques, recognising symptoms of depression, and extending support to individuals in need.

Attendees were sensitized on the importance of mental well-being and the significance of timely intervention in crisis situations.

Techniques for staying stress-free during challenging times were discussed. Participants were educated on identifying symptoms of depression in themselves and others. Strategies for providing support to individuals grappling with mental health challenges were emphasized.

Attendees at the event pledged to prioritize mental well-being and vowed to seek emotional support in times of crisis. They also committed to extending assistance to those in distress before taking any drastic actions.

As a tangible symbol of their commitment, plans were announced to install Jeevan board within the centre, serving as a reminder of the collective responsibility towards mental health.
