Jharkhand News: Missing contractor’s semi-burnt body found in Gamharia jungle

Police and inquisitive people gathered around the semi-burnt body in a jungle under Gamharia Thana area on Monday

Jamshedpur, Oct 14: Semi-burnt body of a 32-year-old man was found in a jungle under the Gamharia Thana area this afternoon, triggering a sensation in the area.

The body was later identified as Vibhansu Shashank, a resident of Shivpuri Colony in Adityapur.

Vibhansu who was a contractor of IOCL’s bottling plant in Gamharia was missing since October 12.  The family members of the victim had lodged a missing person report with the Adityapur Thana on Sunday.

The body was discovered in the jungle behind Xavier School. Nearby, a motorcycle with the registration number JH05CG-1065 was parked, along with a mobile phone, wallet, and bag found beside it.

Soon after receiving the news regarding the semi-burnt body in a jungle, officers-in-charge of Gamharia and Adityapur police stations rushed to the spot and started investigation.

In fact, it was after the police officers went through some papers and got the mobile phone checked that they could know that the body was that of Vibhansu Shashank.

The police later informed the family members of the deceased.

Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Mukesh Lunayat confirmed about finding a semi-burnt body in Gamharia.

“The body that was found was of Vibhansu Shashank, the man who was missing since Saturday. But whether the man has been murdered or committed suicide is yet to be established. The mystery behind the death of Vibhansu Shashank can be unfolded after a postmortem only,” said Lunayat while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

Vibhansu’s marriage had taken place four months ago in Gaya and his wife is pregnant.
