The worst-hit area is the Ashiana Woodland Colony in Fadlugora, where water levels reached 15–20 feet, flooding homes and stranding thousands of residents.

Numerous two-wheelers, four-wheelers, buses, trucks, and cars were submerged, leaving roads completely paralysed.

NHAI Construction Blamed for Flooding

Local residents and representatives have blamed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the disaster, citing poor planning and drainage negligence.

Reports suggest that NHAI filled up a drain near a local stream during construction of the four-lane project connecting Chandil to Dimna via Fadlugora, resulting in rainwater accumulation and widespread flooding.

Demanding strict action, residents have called for accountability from both NHAI and the involved construction agencies.

They also stressed the need for a permanent drainage solution to prevent such disasters in the future.

Traffic Diversions and Relief Efforts Underway

Meanwhile, relief operations are ongoing, though high water levels are making rescue efforts difficult.

To ease traffic congestion, the administration has designated an alternate route via Kanderbeda–Domuhani–Manago–Dimna Road for vehicles heading between Tata and Ranchi, and police have been deployed to regulate movement.
