Ban on VIP and out-of-turn Darshan

The inter-state coordination committee of Jharkhand – Bihar has banned VIP and out-of-turn Darshan of Baba Baidyanath during the month-long Shravan Mela starting from July 22.

A meeting under Santhal Pargana Divisional Commissioner Lalchand Dandel was held at Deoghar circuit house on Monday evening to review the preparation of month long Mela and decided to impose a complete ban on VIPs and out-of-turn Darshan of devotees during the period.

Since more than two lakh devotees turn up daily to offer Gangajal to the 12th Jyotirlingam per day, VIP and out-of-turn Darshan are banned to avoid any unnecessary rush in the temple premises.

Besides Santhal Pargana Commissioner, Bhagalpur Division Commissioner, Munger Division Commissioner, IG Dumka, IG Bhagalpur, DIG Munger, DIG Bhagalpur, Collector Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, Jamui, Deputy Commissioner Deoghar, Superintendent of Police Banka, Deoghar, Godda and other senior officials of both states were present and put up a road map for making Shravani Mela successful.
