Jamshedpur, July 3: A staff of Sohrai Inn was found allegedly making a video of a lady customer through the toilet’s ventilator on Tuesday evening.
Following an alarm was raised by the lady who was a girl in her early twenties, the culprit managed to escape, leading the girl and her friends to create hue and cry.
The sensational incident came to limelight after the girl informed the police and demanded to trace out the culprit for necessary action against him immediately.
Located at Jaida along the NH-33 under the Chandil thana area and about 20 km away from Jamshedpur, Sohrai Inn is an ideal motel where people tend to drop in after visiting the famous Jaida temple.
The victim girl had also gone over to the motel along with three-four of her friends for refreshment after visiting the Jaida temple on Tuesday evening.

Motel management summons all staff after girl raises alarm
As the girl was feeling pressure, she wanted to use the inn’s toilet. Inside the toilet, she incidentally looked up to find a smartphone in the ventilator with someone behind the gadget. Instantly she screamed at the sight of the smartphone in the toilet ventilator and ran out of it.
The girl along with her friends reached to the motel management demanded to know the person who was spotted with a smartphone in the toilet ventilator.
The motel management had summoned all the staff to assemble at the lounge and got the smartphones of all of them checked up but nothing objectionable was found in any of the gadgets.
Police find one staff missing, initiate probe to nab him
But the girl and her friends kept on insisting that there was someone with a smartphone in the ventilator and subsequently informed the Chandil police. Significantly, when the police team arrived at the scene and started a probe by making a head count of the motel staff, one of the staff was missing this time.
Some of the staff later revealed to the police that the staff in question would often climb on a tree which is close to the toilet’s ventilator and such a mysterious act by that staff had become a topic of gossip among the rest of them. But who knew the staff who is a resident of the Chutia thana area in Ranchi used to climb the tree for making videos of the lady customers through the ventilator.
OC, Chandil thana, Pranab Yadav confirmed about the complaint against a staff of Sohrai Inn for making video of a lady customer.
“We are probing the matter and it would come to a logical end after the staff in question is caught, ” said the OC while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
