Dhanbad, Nov 4: Police in Dhanbad launched a large-scale manhunt on Tuesday to trace the associates of Dubai-based Wasseypur gangster Prince Khan. The operation, conducted under tight security deployment, was led by Deputy Superintendents of Police and supervised by Rural SP Kapil Choudhary.

Teams carried out simultaneous raids in the Wasseypur area under Bank More police station and Kurmidih under Barbadda police station. The search began around 4 a.m. and continued throughout the day until 5 p.m., with several police squads sweeping multiple localities.

Raids on suspected hideouts and houses

According to local sources, police raided 11 houses in Wasseypur believed to belong to Prince Khan’s close aides. Another raid was conducted at the residence of Kishan Khan in Kurmidih, a known associate of the gangster.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that around a dozen people were detained for questioning, and cash was seized from the homes of suspected organised criminals. However, police officials have not disclosed details of the recovery or arrests.

Police maintain secrecy on details of operation

Senior officers involved in the operation refrained from sharing specifics with the media, citing ongoing investigations. They clarified that all actions were carried out under the direction of SSP Prabhat Kumar, who will later provide a detailed account of the search and its outcomes.

Prince Khan, a notorious criminal figure from Wasseypur, has been residing in Dubai and is reportedly running his extortion racket from there. His gang is active in Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, and Ranchi, targeting traders, doctors, and jewellery shops for extortion.

The ongoing operation marks one of the most extensive crackdowns in recent times against organised crime linked to the Wasseypur network.
