Dhanbad, May 9: Rabindra Parishad Sindri on Thursday celebrated the 164th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore by holding colourful cultural programmes.
On the occasion, students and teachers of Rabindra Parishad-run Rabindra Nath Vidya Mandir recited Rabindra poems and performed dance and music to celebrate the function in fashion.
Rabindra Parishad Sindri general secretary SD Chattaraj inaugurated the function and recalled the noble work of Gurudev and the importance of his creativity in the present situation.

Senior teachers of the school especially Pampa Chakravarty, Amrita, Papia Char, Shivli Banerjee, and Kumari Sunita performed different items of cultural programme. Shivli Banerjee and Misti Sutradhar recited poems of Tagore.
However, on the occasion, students of Rabindra Nath Vidya Mandir stole the show with their dance and singing performance. Lovely, Samiksha, Puja, Usha, Kashish, Pallavi, Rachna, Rajnandni, Devyani, Anuska Raj, Aarusri, Dimpi and Kumari Madhu dished up solo and group dances to enthral the gathering.
Mukta Chattaraj conducted the function. Members of Rabindra Parishad were present in large numbers on the occasion.
