Ranchi, March 4: A group of Prayavaran Mitra Ranchi planted fruit trees in memory of their loved ones to promote plantation spirit among people.

One of the Prayavaran Mitra activists, Prof Indal Paswan, said that the group launched a drive in Kokar today and planted fruit trees at Namkum-based Muktidham.

A member of the group, Rajesh Kumar Paswan, a resident of Kokar, planted a tree in memory of his mother, Saraswati Devi. Ashish Kumar Lal planted a tree in memory of his mother, Sushila Devi, and Amit Paswan planted a tree in memory of his late father, Hari Paswan.

Ranchi Prayavaran Mitra launches a plantation drive every Sunday in different parts of the state capital on a priority basis and encourages residents to do it to protect the environment,” said Prof Paswan.

Prayavaran Mitra group activists said they have also launched a unique campaign among residents of Ranchi to plant trees on auspicious days, such as birthdays, marriage days, or in memory of their kin. The organisation will extend their full support to their plantation.

On Sunday, Shiv Kumar Paswan, Saurabh Bose, Rajesh Kumar Paswan, Nand Kishore Ram, Ashish Kumar Ram, Devraj Ganguli and Indal Paswan played a major role in the plantation drive.
