Jharkhand News: Rotary Club Jamshedpur holds 39th Installation Ceremony

Jamshedpur, July 24: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown held its 39th Installation Ceremony, marking a significant event conducted in a traditional manner, adhering to established protocols.

The chief guest for the occasion was D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials, Tata Steel, and the installation and induction officer was PDG Dr. R. Bharat.

The ceremony saw the outgoing President Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha and Secretary  Jyoti Singh handing over the reins of the club to the incoming President Preeti Saini and Secretary Rajeshwar Jaiswal.

Dr Jyoti Singh honoured as Rotarian of the Year

The function commenced with a welcome address by Ashish Das, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the lighting of the lamp.

Outgoing President Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha presented a review of the projects undertaken during the Rotary year 2023-24. This was followed by an award function, recognizing notable members for their significant contributions to society.

Dr Jyoti Singh was honoured as the Rotarian of the Year for his commendable work in organizing free surgeries and medical camps.

New office bearers

The installation of the new President Preeti Saini, Secretary Rajeshwar Jaiswal, and the new Board of Directors was conducted by Dr. Bharat, following the traditional oath-taking and collar exchange ceremony. Dr. Bharat also presented the new officials with Rotary lapel pins.

The new Board includes President Preeti Saini, Secretary Rajeshwar Jaiswal, IPP Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha, PP Ashish Das, PP Shiva Rama Rao, Sarita Ray, Moin Khan,  Shankar Pathak, and Dr. Jyoti Singh. Additionally, five new members were inducted, taking their oaths and receiving Rotary literature and lapel pins.

In her presidential address, Preeti Saini emphasized the club’s goals for the coming year, aiming to create magic through collective efforts and highlighting the importance of Rotary fellowship to undertake need-based projects for societal service.

The event also featured the release of a souvenir by the chief guest, announcements by Secretary Rajeshwar Jaiswal, and an introduction of the chief guest by Sarita Ray.

In his address, Ramam praised the club’s efforts, particularly in conducting free surgeries and other community service projects, comparing it to Tata Steel’s impactful work in its mining areas.
