Daltonganj, Feb 20: RPF Garhwa Road junction post under the command of the inspector in-charge Banarasi Yadav is tirelessly working on crowd management at the railway stations at Garhwa road junction and Daltonganj.

Passengers are being updated on the arrival of the trains by the RPF in addition to the mandatory public announcement done by the railways here.

Caution against boarding moving trains

Passengers are advised not to panic or show haste either boarding the compartment or getting down from the train.

RPF inspector in-charge Banarasi Yadav said, “We are constantly telling passengers not to make any attempt to board the running train. It’s very dangerous. Attempt to board any running train is a serious life risk.”

RPF team is lending a great helping hand to elderly men and women to board the train.

Yadav also said, “Where there is a crowd of passengers, pickpockets also come in. Our RPF jawans in plains and uniforms are keeping a strict vigil all for the convenience and ease of the passengers.”

Banarsi Yadav said although the RPF is managing passengers bound for Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela, the routine task of the RPF here is giving on simultaneously.

Rescue and seizures

Two minor boys were rescued by the RPF. One of the two boys was dumb and deaf and was from Mathura, said the inspector in-charge Banarasi Yadav.

RPF also seized a consignment of liquor worth little over 45,000 rupees, added Yadav.

Managing surge in passenger traffic

Daltonganj railway station Superintendent Umesh Kumar said, “There is a tremendous rush of passengers. It’s around 10,000 a day. All of us are working too hard to have a smooth passage of the passengers.”

There has been set up one passenger holding area for elderly men and women passengers.

Crowd is terribly high in the Jharkhand Swarnjayanti express train, added station Superintendent Umesh Kumar.

Two-minute stoppage trains here are detained for another 8 minutes for the convenience and ease of the passengers.
