Six cybercriminals from Telangana, Bihar arrested in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Jan 22: In a significant operation, Dhanbad police apprehended six cybercriminals, including four from Telangana and two from Bihar, who were operating from a rented apartment under Dhansar police station area in the coal city.

According to Sanjeev Kumar, Dhanbad’s Cyber Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), the arrested individuals have been identified as N Vijay (22), P Anil Kumar (27), and M Srinu (26), all residents of Mothkur under Doma police station area of Telangana, along with Ramesh Rator (24) from Vikaswad district in Telangana.

The two others, Rahul Kumar Paswan (22) and Rajiv Ranjan (22), hail from Sayadpur and Manpur in Nalanda district, Bihar.

The police confiscated 13 mobile phones, 14 SIM cards, and several incriminating documents from the suspects.

Operation Details

The arrests were made following a directive from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HP Janardhan. Acting on intelligence, a police team raided a flat in Nandlok Apartment on Joraphatak Road, rented by Sunil Kumar Jai, and detained all six suspects.

DSP Sanjeev Kumar disclosed that the accused were involved in a cyber fraud scheme, deceiving individuals by offering fake loans under the guise of “Online Bajaj Finance.” An FIR has already been lodged against them in Telangana for similar crimes.

This operation highlights the increasing prevalence of cybercrimes and the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb such activities.
