Jharkhand News: Tata Steel inaugurates pet crematorium in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 3: Tata Steel has established a ‘Pet Crematorium’, located near the dog kennel in Jubilee Park.

This facility provides a dignified, safe, hygienic, and environmentally responsible solution to pet owners for the disposal of pet remains.

The facility was recently inaugurated by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services and Ruchi Narendran, President, Jamshedpur Kennel Club in the presence of Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) and other distinguished guests.

With cremation charges of Rs 3,000, the initiative offers an affordable and compassionate farewell to beloved pets (within a 50 kg weight limit) while maintaining public health and sanitation standards.

Available during daytime hours all days of the week, the gas-fired facility can be reached through the road next to the zoo on the Marine Drive.

By providing an eco-friendly alternative to pet burials, this initiative reinforces Tata Steel’s dedication to responsible infrastructure and environmental stewardship, ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for Jamshedpur.
