PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Oct 24: The East Singhbhum traffic police has announced a special traffic plan for the Chhath festival to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the festival.

Entry of heavy and goods vehicles into city limits will remain strictly prohibited from October 26 to October 28.

As per the official order, ‘No Entry’ timings for commercial and goods vehicles have been revised to prevent congestion on key routes leading to major Chhath ghats and marketplaces.

Large gatherings are expected at ghats in Sonari, Bistupur, Kadma, Baridih, Golmuri, Telco, and Mango, where traffic diversions will be enforced.

Police have advised citizens to cooperate and use designated diversion routes displayed at major intersections.

Heavy vehicles will be rerouted through the NH-33 and Adityapur-Kandra Road bypasses during the restriction period.

Additional police forces will be deployed at sensitive points to manage vehicular and pedestrian movement efficiently.
