Jharkhand News: Two cyber frauds wanted in three states caught in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Aug 14: The Dhanbad cyber police have caught two cyber frauds involved in over a dozen cheating crimes in three states, Maharashtra, Bengal and Odisha from Jayanagar Dastola under Barbadda police station, around 14 km away from the district headquarters today.

Cyber deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Sanjiv Kumar today told media persons that on getting information from Ranchi headquarters a joint raid by the cyber police and Barbadda police station personnel was conducted in Jayanagar Das Tola on the basis of mobile phone numbers surveillance and caught both the criminals.

The arrested criminals were identified as Mantosh Kumar and Rohit Ravi Das. The police seized six mobile phones, nine SIM cards from their possession. Three mobiles were loaded with three SİMs used to cheat people. Both the arrested cyber frauds are close relatives.

“Fifteen cheating cases have been lodged in Maharashtra, Bengal and Odisha on the mobile numbers used by the arrested cyber criminals. Now, the investigation will be conducted on how many people they cheated,” said DSP Sanjiv Kumar.

The arrested frauds admitted that they had been cheating people for the last one year impersonating as bank managers in the name of updating KYC cards and closure of accounts.
