Jharkhand: Nilendu Kumar Singh to be new CCL CMD

Ranchi, February 12. Today, the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB) recommended Nilendu Kumar Singh as Central Coalfields Ltd’s (CCL) new CMD.
Singh, at present, is the Director (Technical) of Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL).

Singh assumed the charge of Director (Technical) Project & Planning, Eastern Coalfields Limited, on December 9, 2022.

Singh, an IIT ISM Dhanbad graduate

He graduated in Mining Engineering (B. Tech) from IIT-ISM, Dhanbad, in 1989 and obtained 1st Class Mine Manager Certification in 1994.

Singh joined CCL in 1989

He joined Coal India Limited in 1989 at Central Coalfields Limited. Singh rendered his services in CCL till 2011 in various capacities, viz—mines manager at Piparwar, Ashoka, Urimari and Kalyani projects.
After that, he was transferred to SECL in January 2012. There, he rendered his services in various capacities, viz. Mines Manager at Gevra from 2012 to 2017; Sub Area Manager (Agent) at Dipka & Chhal project and Area General Manager at Dipka Area, Korba Area & Raigarh Area of SECL.

He possesses vast experience working in large opencast mines, handling FMC projects, starting sidings, adopting new mining technologies and working with the highest capacity HEMM, viz. 42 m3 shovels and 240T dumpers.

Besides, he also has experience working with White Industries of Australia Ltd. (WIAL) at the Piparwar opencast mine of CCL with an “In-pit Crushing & Conveying System” with integrated CHP & CPP. He also visited Australia in 1997 to gain experience in advanced mining techniques. He has a keen interest in sports and painting. He has represented volleyball at the All-India University level.
