Jharkhand student arrested in UP over social media post predicting ‘Pulwama-like attack’

New Delhi, Dec 27: A Jharkhand student was taken into custody in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday in connection with a social media post.

A ‘Pulwama-like incident will soon take place,’ the student, a native of Jharkhand, posted on social media, as per details.

Regarding the matter, a First Information Report (FIR) was also filed.

The student was currently undergoing questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Saharanpur Police said the student was being held and that a squad was conducting the interrogations in an X post.

40 CRPF personnel martyred in 2019 Pulwama attack

In the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, 40 members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost their lives.

The incident occurred on February 14 at Lethapora when a vehicle-borne suicide bomber attacked a convoy of vehicles transporting personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.

Subsequently, the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), based in Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.
