Jamshedpur, August 20: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over northern parts of Jharkhand today.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued a forecast of thundershowers and lightning at isolated places over the state today.

According to the forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over north-western parts of the state tomorrow, August 21.

Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places over southern and central parts of the state on August 22.

The low-pressure area over southern Bangladesh and its neighbourhood persists.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.

Initially, it is likely to move north-northwestwards during the next 24 hours and move west-northwestwards during subsequent 3-4 days across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and adjoining Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Sri Ganganagar, Delhi, Kanpur, Dehri, Bankura, centre of low-pressure area over south Bangladesh and thence to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
