Jamshedpur, Dec 24: In the interest of public safety and effective crowd management during the year-end festivities, the gates of landmark Jubilee Park will remain closed from December 25 to January 5.

The decision has been taken following an official order issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum, after reviewing security requirements and prevailing conditions.

The Tata Steel Town Operations and Maintenance Department informed the administration that, as in previous years, a massive influx of visitors—including tourists from other states—converges at Jubilee Park during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Officials noted that the surge in footfall often leads to congestion on adjoining roads and within the park premises, increasing the risk of accidents and complicating traffic movement.

Considering the situation from a security and public safety perspective, Tata Steel sought permission to temporarily close both entry gates of the park.

The administration approved the proposal, clarifying that the closure is a preventive measure aimed solely at avoiding overcrowding and ensuring smooth traffic flow during the peak festive period.

The directive will remain in force throughout the specified dates, and concerned departments have been instructed to ensure strict compliance.
