THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Dec 31: Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal launched the registration for Pujari Granthi Samman Yojna in the capital on Tuesday. Under this scheme, priests and granthis in Delhi will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹18,000.

He, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, visited the Shri Marghat Wale Baba Mandir at Kashmere Gate to begin the registration process for the scheme.

After launching the scheme, Kejriwal posted about it on X saying, “Today I visited Marghat Baba’s temple (ISBT) and launched the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana. Today is the birthday of the Mahant ji here. I also celebrated his birthday with him. BJP tried its best to stop the registration today. But no one can stop a devotee from meeting his God.”

Kejriwal had mentioned in a press conference on December 30 that if the Aam Aadmi Party comes to power again in the upcoming elections in Delhi, they will implement this scheme.

The BJP has launched an attack on Kejriwal’s announcement. The BJP posted on X, calling Arvind Kejriwal an “election Hindu.”
