Leadership skills training for top institutions concludes at IIT ISM Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Dec 20: The leadership skills training program for educators from top institutions across the country concluded successfully at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad.

The five-day training session, titled ‘Nurturing Future Leadership Program’ was held under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) Centre, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education.

Participants included representatives from esteemed institutions such as BHU Varanasi, EFLU Hyderabad, Central University of Kashmir, Central Sanskrit University, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Jodhpur, Kazi Nazrul University, Sidho-Kanho-Birsa University, and Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad.

The program focused on equipping faculty and higher education institutions (HEIs) with leadership skills to foster transformation in academia.

Insights on leadership and National Education Policy

Dr. Pankaj K.P. Shreyaskar, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, served as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

He shed light on the critical elements of the National Education Policy (NEP), particularly its emphasis on leadership development and capacity building among faculty and HEIs.

The guest of honor, Prof. Sagar Pal, underscored the importance of leadership in academia and motivated participants to embrace their roles as agents of change.

Prof. Mrinalini Pandey, Program Director of the MMTTP Centre, extended her gratitude to the contributors and organizing team.

“The seamless execution of the program was made possible through the meticulous efforts of the organizing committee, as their hard work ensured a productive and enriching experience for all involved,” said Prof. Pandey.

Participants actively engaged throughout the training, reflecting their dedication to leadership development.
