Jamshedpur, Dec 31: The minimum temperature plummeted across Jharkhand with sub-10 chill making a comeback at several places including capital Ranchi, Chatra, Lohardaga and Simdega today.

Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius while Lohardaga today recorded 9 degrees.

Chatra today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.1 degrees Celsius while Simdega recorded 10.2 degrees.

The automated weather station at Khunti today recorded a minimum temperature of 9.2 degree Celsius while Hazaribagh recorded 10.5 degrees.

The abrupt fall in minimum temperature was due to the restoration of cold and crisp north-westerly wind, said weathermen.

According to the predictions of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre the chill is further going to intensify.

The forecast indicated a 2-3 degrees fall in minimum temperature in the next 72 hours.

The weathermen ruled out the possibility of rain or any adverse weather conditions on New Year’s Day tomorrow.
