Jamshedpur, May 12: The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) launched the second edition of its Summer Camp on May 11, welcoming 65 eager young participants from schools across Jamshedpur—including children from Tata Steel Foundation’s Masti Ki Pathshala initiative.

The camp was inaugurated by Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director, NTHA, and is designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of hockey while promoting physical fitness and instilling a love for the game.

Running daily from 6:30 am to 8:00 am until May 20, the program features skill-based hockey drills, video analysis, fitness routines, and engaging games, all under the supervision of FIH-certified coaches.
Masti Ki Pathshala, launched in 2016, focuses on ending child labour through education and inclusive programs. This summer camp extends that mission by offering a positive, growth-oriented environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.
“This summer camp is more than just training,” said Rao. “It’s a stepping stone for discovering hidden talent and instilling the spirit of sport. With the right guidance, these children can go on to represent their schools at district, state, and national-level events like the SGFI.”
