New Delhi, March 18: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Tuesday and is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow (March 19) at 11 am.

The Lok Sabha witnessed disruptions on Tuesday as opposition members staged loud protests, demanding the inclusion of stampede-related deaths in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on the Maha Kumbh.

Soon after PM Modi addressed the House on Maha Kumbh, opposition leaders stood in protest, leading to an initial adjournment until 1 pm.

Opposition MPs entered the well of the House and started raising slogans in protest against Prime Minister Modi’s statement on the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. In response, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged the members to return to their seats, assuring them that if they did so, they would be given an opportunity to speak until 1 pm.

Om Birla stated that Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw would respond at 1 pm. Advising the opposition members, the Speaker emphasized that the House functions according to rules.

However, opposition members continued their protest in the well of the House. Following the disruption, the Speaker announced the adjournment of proceedings until 1 pm.

As the uproar continued, preventing further proceedings, the House was eventually adjourned for the day.
