Palamu SIR Update: Hussainabad, Daltonganj Lag in Enumeration Form Digitization, Bishrampur Leads

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Daltonganj | July 20:
The elite Daltonganj Assembly constituency and Hussainabad Assembly constituency, where a sizeable number of electors are employed in Gulf countries, have emerged as the biggest challenges for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) teams due to the slow pace of digitization of filled Enumeration Forms (EFs).
District Election Officer (DEO) and Palamu Deputy Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat said Hussainabad has made progress over the past few days but remains well behind the desired target.
“Hussainabad Assembly constituency was struggling with just 47-48 percent digitization of EFs three days ago. It has now crossed 68 percent as of July 18,” Shekhawat said.
He, however, made it clear that the improvement was not satisfactory.
“I tell you this is neither a matter of consolation nor complacency. Hussainabad Assembly constituency is still struggling in the digitization of EFs. I have directed the team to pull out all the stops to achieve 100 percent digitization,” he reiterated.
Hussainabad Assembly constituency has 342 polling booths and more than 3.15 lakh electors.
A significant number of electors from the constituency are working in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and other Gulf countries. It remains unclear how their families have managed the Enumeration Forms in their absence.
Sources said many electors in Hussainabad have been misinformed about the Enumeration Forms, leading to a lack of interest in filling and submitting them.

Daltonganj Also Behind Target

Daltonganj Assembly constituency, which has 426 polling booths and around four lakh electors, had achieved 66.79 percent digitization of filled Enumeration Forms as of July 18.
Sources attributed the slow progress to the urban apathy often witnessed during Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, saying the same trend appears to have affected participation in the ongoing SIR exercise.

In contrast, Bishrampur Assembly constituency has recorded the best performance among the three.
The constituency has 367 polling booths, including 158 in Garhwa district, and more than 1.68 lakh electors. It had achieved 81.45 percent digitization of Enumeration Forms as of July 18.
Electoral Registration Officer of Bishrampur Assembly constituency and Additional Collector Kundan Kumar said, “Our District Election Officer is monitoring and assessing the day-to-day progress of EF digitization.”

Palamu Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat chairs a video conference on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) from his official chamber in Daltonganj.
If you’re publishing on a news portal, an SEO meta title of “Palamu SIR: Hussainabad, Daltonganj Trail in EF Digitization; Bishrampur Tops” (under 60 characters) and a meta description of “Hussainabad and Daltonganj Assembly constituencies continue to lag in Enumeration Form digitisation during the Special Intensive Revision in Palamu, while Bishrampur has crossed 81%.” will help improve search visibility.
