New Delhi, July 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today began responding to the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha.
In response, the opposition staged a walkout. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar condemned the opposition’s walkout, stating that it would hurt the sentiments of the country’s 140 crore people. He remarked that by walking out today, they left not just the House, but also their sense of decorum.
Public has stamped victory on the politics of trust
After the opposition walkout, PM Modi continued his address. He stated that for the third time in 60 years, the people of the country have brought the same government back to power, which is extraordinary.
He mentioned that the opposition’s accusation of their government being a one-third government is accurate, as their government will last for another 20 years and has only completed a third of its term so far.
He emphasized that the people of the country have defeated misinformation and the politics of deceit, and have endorsed the politics of trust.
“We feel proud of the wisdom and intelligence of the people of this country, in these elections. They defeated propaganda. They prioritised performance. They rejected the politics of deceit and put a stamp of victory on the politics of trust,” he said.

We respect every word and sentiment of the Constitution: PM
The Prime Minister stated that the people of the country have given them a mandate, and they will elevate India’s economy to the third position in the world.
He sarcastically remarked that some people are used to running the government on ‘auto-pilot,’ but they believe in hard work.
He mentioned that individuals like him have had the opportunity to reach this point because of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution. For them, the Constitution is not just a compilation of articles; they respect every word and sentiment it embodies.
As the country enters the 75th year of its Constitution, they have decided to celebrate this milestone in every corner of the nation.
We want to create new chapter of development: PM
The Prime Minister stated that this election not only endorses ten years of achievements but also shows that the people have chosen them for future aspirations. He expressed their desire to write a new chapter of development in India. They have broken all previous records in benefiting farmers, including through MSP.
The Prime Minister remarked that during the Congress government’s tenure, much noise was made about farm loan waivers, and efforts were made to mislead farmers, but the benefits of their scheme never reached the needy and small poor farmers.
“During Congress’s tenure, there was a scheme for Rs 60,000 crore farmers’ loan waiver but names of the needy small farmers were not even included in the list of beneficiaries,” he said.
He added that over the past ten years, they have provided farmers with three lakh crore rupees.
