THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Dec 1: Ahead of the beginning of the Winter Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media outside Parliament and stressed that the session is not just a formality but an opportunity to inject new energy into India’s journey toward rapid development.

He expressed confidence that the proceedings would drive national growth and support key decision-making.

Modi referred to the Bihar Assembly elections, noting that the record voter turnout has further strengthened democratic processes. He highlighted the growing participation of women, which he said brings renewed hope and trust in India’s democracy.

According to him, the world is closely observing how India is reinforcing both its democracy and its economy through democratic means, demonstrating once again that democracy yields tangible outcomes.

The Prime Minister appealed to the Opposition to fulfil its responsibilities by engaging in meaningful discussions and presenting substantial issues. He said the Opposition should move beyond the disappointment of electoral setbacks.

He criticised certain parties for being unable to accept their defeat, remarking that despite the time that has passed since the Bihar results, their recent statements show lingering frustration.

Modi said those who wish to engage in theatrics have many places to do so, but Parliament should focus on effective delivery rather than drama. He stressed that policy should take precedence over slogans and that intent must reflect sincerity.

Acknowledging that negativity may have its place in politics, he underlined that nation-building demands a constructive and positive outlook.

“I would request that everyone thinks about the issues at hand. There is a lot of place for doing drama, whoever wants to do drama can do it. Yaha drama nahi, delivery honi chahiye (There should delivery here, no drama). Whoever wants to say slogans, the whole country is there, you have already said it during the defeat of Bihar elections. But here the emphasis should be on policy, not slogans. It is possible that negativity can work in politics but ultimately positive thinking is needed for nation building. Negativity should be kept aside and nation building should be the focus,” PM Modi said.
