New Delhi, Sept 6: Amid recent strains in India–U.S. relations, a series of statements from both sides have indicated a possible thaw.
Hours after U.S. President Donald Trump expressed positive sentiments about India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded by extending a gesture of friendship and reaffirming the strength of bilateral ties.

Modi highlighted that India and the United States share a broad, forward-looking, and multidimensional strategic partnership that plays an important role in advancing global stability and prosperity.

He warmly appreciated Trump’s views on the partnership and expressed full support for the positive evaluation of India–U.S. relations.
Trump, for his part, had earlier described America’s relationship with India as special and underlined his personal friendship with Modi, even as he voiced displeasure over India’s continued oil imports from Russia.

Together, the remarks from both leaders are being seen as a constructive signal, suggesting that despite recent tensions, the two countries may be moving toward easing differences and strengthening cooperation.
