Port Louis, March 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mauritius on Tuesday, where he was warmly received with a ceremonial welcome by Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
During his visit, which follows an invitation from Ramgoolam, Modi is set to meet President Dharam Gokhool, Prime Minister Ramgoolam, and other senior officials. He will also participate in a community programme later in the day.
The two nations are expected to sign multiple agreements on capacity building, trade, and addressing cross-border financial crimes.

Around 200 dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister, Chief Justice, and other top leaders, were present at the airport to welcome him.
Modi will also inaugurate the civil service college and area health centre, both funded by India, and interact with the Indian community in Mauritius.
Before his departure, Modi had highlighted that this visit would mark the beginning of a new and bright chapter in the relationship between India and Mauritius.
