New Delhi, September 6: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has accepted the resignation of Sujeet Kumar, a Rajya Sabha member from Odisha, after he was expelled from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
As per a letter signed by BJD President Naveen Patnaik, Sujeet Kumar has been expelled from the Biju Janata Dal effective immediately for ‘anti-party activities.’

The letter stated that Sujit Kumar has disappointed both the party that appointed him to the Rajya Sabha and the hopes and expectations of the people of Kalahandi district.
“He has let down the party which sent him to Rajya Sabha and hopes and aspirations of people of Kalahandi district”, the letter read.
