Hathras, July 4: Shalabh Mathur, Aligarh’s Inspector General of Police, stated on Thursday that six people have been arrested in relation to a stampede incident at a religious event in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh.
The Aligarh IG added that a reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced for the arrest of Prakash Madhukar who is the main accused in the case adding that a non-bailable warrant will also be issued against him soon.
He also stated that the six people arrested include four men and two women.

The arrested accused are Rahbari Singh Yadav, Bhupendar Singh Yadav, Megh Singh, Manju Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, and Manju Devi.

When asked about the possibility of questioning or arresting Bhole Baba, Mathur said that further arrests will depend on the investigation. If further roles emerge in the investigation, action will be taken. If necessary, questioning will be conducted.
Aligarh IG Shalabh Mathur reported that the death toll is 121, with all bodies identified and post-mortem procedures completed.
On Tuesday, a stampede at a Satsang in the Hathras district resulted in the death of 121 people and injured 31 others.
The Satsang was held by Suraj Pal, who is also referred to as Narayan Hari, Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba, or simply ‘Bhole Baba,’ near GT Road in the village of Phulrai Mugalgarhi in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a search at Ram Kutir Charitable Trust in Mainpuri earlier today, for the self-styled godman ‘Bhole Baba’ who led the ‘Satsang’ in Hathras that led to the stampede.
