Dhanbad, June 12: The Jharkhand Health Services Association (JHSA), a frontal organization of government doctors, has demanded 4 Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) for dentists of the State at par with Bihar.

At present, dentists of Jharkhand are given only three DACP while the Bihar government gives four DACP to its dentists. The JHSA has also demanded to make a specialist cadre of MDS degree-holder doctors and they should be kept in the specialist doctor’s category.

The JHSA, at its executive committee meeting held in Ranchi, discussed and prepared a list of doctors’ long pending demands.

After the meeting, JHSA president Dr PP Shah and secretary Dr Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh said that the JHSA has urged the government to make amendments to the DACP of Jharkhand and give it on the pattern of the central government and Bihar.

But the central government and Bihar doctors get 1st DACP in 4 years, 2nd in 5 years, 3rd in 4 years and 4th in 7 years.

No ACP for specialist doctors

“There is no ACP for specialist doctors in the Service Manual of Jharkhand. So, the JHSA demands amendment in Service Manual and provision of ACP to specialist doctors on the pattern of the central government,” said the JHSA president and secretary.

Specialist doctors for Ranchi Sadar Hospital

The JHSA expressed concern that there are no sanctioned posts of regular specialist doctors at Ranchi Sadar Hospital while, at the same time, all 23 district sadar hospitals have sanctioned posts of specialist doctors.

“At Ranchi Sadar Hospital, besides obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and anaesthesia, there is no sanctioned post of specialist doctors in other departments. Since Ranchi Sadar is competing with corporate hospitals in providing quality health services to patients, the JHSA demands sanction of regular specialist doctors’ posts there,” said Dr Thakur.

The JHSA pointed out that there are sanctioned posts of 1134 specialist doctors in Jharkhand state but against it, only 182 (16%) are working. An appointment should be made on vacant posts for streamlining the health services in the state.
