Jharkhand News: BIT Sindri to set up State’s 1st ‘Centre of Excellence’ for electric vehicles

Discussion on Centre of Excellence for Electric Vehicles at BIT Sindri

Dhanbad, June 13: The Electrical Engineering Department of  BIT Sindri will set up Jharkhand’s first ‘Centre of Excellence’ to promote and create opportunities for electric vehicles.

In this regard, the Department of Electrical Engineering in collaboration with Ansys Inc. organised a workshop and group discussion of experts on ‘Electric Vehicles and its Components’ and the future of transportation and sustainability of electric vehicles.

One of the coordinators of the seminar, Dr Rahul Kumar, said that the main mission of this group discussion of experts was to set up a Centre of Excellence for promoting electrical vehicles, providing training to students of Jharkhand and generating placement avenues for them.

A lab, the first of its kind in the state’ would be also set up

“For achieving the mission, a lab, first of its kind in the state’ would be also set up in which students of BIT Sindri, state-based polytechnic institutes would get proper teaching and training about electric vehicles,” said Dr Rahul Kumar.

Dr Murli Manohar was another coordinator of the programme. The inside and outside visitor experts highly appreciated the management of both the coordinators and the ambitious project of the seminar.

Experts on electric vehicles

Experts on electric vehicles and their components, including ISIE India director (corporate affairs) Subham Varshney,  Application Engg, ARK Infosolution Pvt Ltd Ajay Sekhar Reddy and ARK  Infosolutions RM Rabin Choudhury, BIT Sindri Electrical Engineering department HoD Dr  Md Abul Kalam, Prof Rajendra Murmu, Prof Rajesh Narayan Dev, Prof  M Rahman, Prof Praveen Kumar, Prof Manimala participated in the group discussion.

The experts also discussed cutting–edge technologies driving the future of transportation and sustainability and key challenges for academia and industry.

Prof Rekha Jha, on the occasion, provided a comprehensive overview of the key issues and opportunities associated with electric vehicles.

The coordinator, Dr Rahul Kumar, said that several seminars and workshops would be organized shortly which besides renowned experts in the field, different companies would also attend for ‘The Centre of Excellence’.
