Jamshedpur, July 30: Loyola School’s Fasy Auditorium was abuzz with joyful enthusiasm as students, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola on Tuesday. Recognised annually on the 31st of July, this day honours the founder of the Society of Jesus and his enduring legacy of transformation, education, and unwavering dedication to faith and service.

The celebrations began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an Ignatian prayer led by Fr. Victor Misquith. Fr. Victor, along with the Principal, Fr. Vinod Fernandes S.J., extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Ananya Mittal, the District Commissioner of East Singhbhum.

Array of performances by students

In-house activities had kicked off a week prior, including painting and poetry contests, with winners being awarded during the main event. The day’s program featured an array of performances by the students, including songs, video presentations, and dances that enriched the festive atmosphere. A quiz on St. Ignatius drew significant enthusiasm from both participants and the audience.

The Chief Guest, Ananya Mittal, had the honour of releasing the Loyola magazine, a platform for Loyoleans to express their creative urges, experiences, reflections, and perspectives.
