SUMAN K SHRIVASTAVA

Ranchi, Oct 26: Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi today said that the ruling JMM is on its way out. “The Congress is already a history (purani cheez),” he added.

Marandi, who was brought back into the party in February 2020 to deliver electoral success, said that the NDA is all set to form the government in Jharkhand.

Hemant Soren cheated, looted public

“Chief Minister Hemant Soren cheated and looted the public for five years. So, the people have decided to teach him a lesson in the elections,” he asserted.

Speaking to The Jharkhand Story, Marandi, who is contesting the Assembly elections at the Rajdhanwar seat, said the Congress gets only anti-BJP and negative votes based on ‘Majhab’. “We are trying to motivate these anti-BJP voters (read Muslims) to vote for development (sabka saath sabka vikas),” he pointed out.

Why people are angry with Hemant?

The former chief minister, who was appointed as the state BJP chief in July last year, said the electorates are angry with Hemant Soren for not fulfilling his promises of giving jobs to youth, allowance to unemployed youth, gold coins to newly-wed girls, any more,” he said.

“Moreover, Soren has run a thoroughly corrupt Raj in Jharkhand. Not only did he loot the state’s resources but also deployed officers to extort the public. Officers ko wasooli Adhikari bana diya,” he alleged.

How low will Hemant Soren go for votes?

Launching an attack on Soren’s silence on Congress minister Irfan Ansari’s ‘Rejected Maal’ jibe at Sita Soren, Marandi said that Hemant Soren, who pretends to respect Maaiya, is not concerned about the insult of a female member of his family.

He said that the people of the state want to know how low Chief Minister Hemant Soren will stoop to save his chair, for the vote bank.

He said that Sita Soren is the elder daughter-in-law of a Jharkhand movement leader, wife of late Durga Soren, sister-in-law of the chief minister, a public representative, yet Hemant Soren is tolerating the insulting words spoken for her by his cabinet minister.

Demography change

He said that the population of tribals of come down by 10 per cent across the State, while it is 16 per cent in Santhal Pargana. “Also, the population of Sanatani has also gone down. Now, it is for everyone to see whose population has gone up. They are the Bangladeshi infiltrators. Tribals have faced the brunt of this infiltration, patronised by the JMM-Congress government,” he added.

“That is the reason we have pledged to set up an SIT to identify the infiltrators and throw them out of Jharkhand,” he said.

“So, it’s time for Hemant Soren to repent for the sins he committed in cheating the innocent public, particularly the tribals of Jharkhand,” Marandi, who served as the leader of the BJP legislature party in the Jharkhand assembly from February 2020 to October 2023, predicted.

Marandi on Kalpana Soren

Asked about Kalpana Soren’s seamless connect with women voters, Marandi said those who support the JMM will definitely throng her meeting. “Only time will tell how much she impacts the poll outcome. We are least worried,” he maintained.

“We are on the battlefield with our “Panch Pran’-Rs 2100 allowance to women, Rs 2000 stipend to unemployed graduates and postgraduates, 2.87 lakh government jobs in five years(one lakh in the first year alone), LPG cylinder @ Rs 500 with and two free cylinders on the occasion of two festivals and 21 lakh pucca houses,” he signed off.
