Ranchi, Nov 23: The counting of votes for the 2024 Assembly Elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, as well as bypolls across 15 states, commenced at 8 am today. The process will determine the outcomes for 288 seats in Maharashtra and 81 seats in Jharkhand, with trends expected to emerge within the initial hours.
According to the latest updates from the Election Commission of India, the INDI Alliance is leading in 50 seats in Jharkhand. Among its constituents, the JMM is ahead in 30 seats, Congress in 14, RJD in five, and CPIML in one. Meanwhile, the NDA is leading in 28 seats, with the BJP ahead in 24, AJSU in two, and LJP(RV) and JDU each leading in one seat.
In Maharashtra, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has crossed the halfway mark, securing leads in over 200 seats, according to trends from the Election Commission of India. The BJP is ahead in 125 seats, Shiv Sena in 55, and NCP in 35. Meanwhile, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance lags with leads in 55 seats, including Congress leading in 21, Shiv Sena (UBT) in 17, and NCP (SP) in 13.
