Tata Steel’s Pankaj Satija gets Distinguished Alumnus Award

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Pankaj Satija, Executive In-Charge, Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) of Tata Steel has been conferred with the Distinguished Alumnus Award under the category ‘Bhaskar Bhattacharjee Memorial Award’ for the year 2024 by the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.

The premier institute gave away the award to Satija for his pioneering contributions to the mining sector.

Expressing gratitude on receiving the award, Pankaj Satija said, “It’s an honour to be recognised by my alma mater. This recognition reinforces the commitment to driving sustainable mining solutions and leveraging technology for a better tomorrow. I dedicate this award to my teachers, my seniors, and my colleagues in the industry and to everyone working towards responsible mining practices.”

Notably, Satija’s work has played a crucial role in integrating cutting-edge technologies and environmentally responsible practices into the mining sector, setting new benchmarks for the industry. In recognition of this, the institute bestowed Satija with the prestigious award for his efforts in transforming the mining sector with sustainable and tech-driven initiatives.

IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, organises its alumni reunion event ‘Basant’ every year and felicitates its distinguished alumni members acknowledging their remarkable achievements and contributions in their respective fields.
