Ranchi, Feb 6: HEC (Heavy Engineering Corporation) GM, Pramod Kumar Behera, has allegedly defrauded over 1 crore 25 lakh rupees by claiming to be an IAS officer of the 2001 batch.
A named FIR has been filed against him by Somendra Mandal, a resident of Ranchi, at the Dhurwa Police Station. After receiving the complaint of fraud, the police arrested Pramod Behera and sent him to jail.
In the FIR filed by Somendra Mandal, it is stated that Pramod Kumar Behera, claiming to be an IAS officer of the 2001 batch, assured him of securing a government job and land at HEC. In return, he took over 1 crore 25 lakh rupees in cash and through bank transfers in several installments.

Behera deceived him by claiming to be close to the Revenue Secretary and officials of HEC. The entire scam came to light when Somendra began pressuring Behera for the land and job after paying the money.
The FIR also mentions that Behera has defrauded other individuals, including Neeraj Saha and Umesh Kumar.
