Jamshedpur, April 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for multiple parts of Jharkhand over the next four days, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and possible hailstorms in isolated areas.

On April 8, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 Kmph are expected at isolated places across the state, except the southwestern parts.

On April 9, similar conditions are likely to affect southern, central, and northeastern parts of the state.

April 10 could see more intense activity, with hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely in east-central and adjoining north-central regions.

Other parts including the southern, central, northeastern, and northwestern regions may also experience thunderstorms with varying wind speeds.

On April 11, the entire state, except the northwestern region, is likely to be affected by thunderstorms with gusty winds of 40-50 Kmph, while the northwestern areas may witness slightly less intense gusts of 30-40 kmph.

The IMD attributes the unstable weather to an upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas, coupled with a trough extending from East Bihar to North Telangana.

Additionally, a low-pressure area over the central south Bay of Bengal, formed under the influence of another upper air cyclonic circulation, is likely to move northwestward and then northward in the coming days, potentially influencing weather patterns further.

Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this period of increased weather activity.
