Jamshedpur, April 12: Loyola School, Jamshedpur recently observed Safety Week, an initiative organized by the SAFE Club to promote awareness about road safety and emergency preparedness among students.

The week-long campaign began with a morning assembly led by Plus Two students who conveyed important safety messages through a stand-up comedy act. The light-hearted performance highlighted common road safety violations such as riding without helmets, using mobile phones while driving, jumping signals, and ignoring stop signs, making the serious subject matter both engaging and relatable.

Students from Classes 6 to 12 participated in poster-making and slogan-writing competitions around the central theme of road safety. The selected entries were displayed at the school gates, attracting the attention of parents, staff, and passersby alike.

Adding a practical component to the observance, the school also conducted an emergency evacuation drill. This exercise gave students firsthand experience of how to safely exit the premises during emergencies such as fires or natural disasters, with the drill carried out in a disciplined and orderly manner.

The culmination of the Safety Week saw a talk show moderated by Sakshi Gupta, featuring panellists Siddharth Agarwal, Bavneet Kaur, and Sunil Parekh from the Young Indians Foundation.
