Jamshedpur, June 11: Two Train Ticket Examiners (TTEs), Nasim and Arjun Sahu, have been suspended on charges of allowing ticketless passengers to travel on the Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express.

Both were removed from train duty and reassigned to Tatanagar station.

The incident came to light during a surprise inspection on May 11 by Vinita Kumar, ADRM (Additional Divisional Railway Manager) of Dhanbad Division.

During the inspection, 11 ticketless passengers were found onboard the Vande Bharat Express. The two TTEs had allegedly allotted seats to these passengers illegally and collected cash from them. They were caught red-handed.

Following the inspection, a detailed report on the incident was submitted to the Chakradharpur Railway Division.

Based on the report, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Senior DCM) Aditya Chaudhary of the Chakradharpur Railway Division took immediate and prompt action and relieved both TTEs from train duty with immediate effect. For now, they have been assigned station duties.

The Senior DCM stated that strict disciplinary action will be taken once the investigation is complete.
