In his address, Iqbal Ahmed stressed that “real journalism is practiced by reporters in small towns and rural areas where there are no proper arrangements for their safety.” He encouraged students from different regions, communities, and backgrounds to join BBC’s training programs so that diverse voices could find representation in mainstream media.
Prerna shared her field experiences, including her coverage of the Kanwar Yatra, and remarked that the essence of India lies in its villages, where harmony often prevails over politics. She urged students to remain alert to political and social changes and advocated for fearless journalism.
The session concluded with an interactive Q\&A, where students raised questions about the challenges of journalism, the current media scenario, and the role of artificial intelligence. The guests responded with detailed and satisfying answers.
Earlier, College Principal Dr. Mohammad Riaz welcomed the guests with mementoes and words of appreciation. Iqbal Ahmed, in turn, praised the vision of the college’s founder and acknowledged the management of the present trust.
