Jamshedpur, Sept 29: The body of 22-year-old Bisu Murmu, a resident of Haludbani Dungri Tola under Parsudih police station, was recovered from the Joda pond in Turamdih, Sundernagar police station area, three days after he went missing.
Police have sent the body for a post-mortem and initiated an investigation, suspecting foul play in the case.
According to reports, on the evening of September 27, Bisu Murmu had gone to a fair with his friends — Durga Soren, Dashmat Tudu, and Rajesh Mahali — on a motorcycle. However, he never returned home that night.

His family filed a missing person’s report at Parsudih police station the same day. With no leads for three days, police intensified their search, eventually recovering the youth’s body from the pond on Sunday.
Police have detained the three friends for questioning. Preliminary investigation suggests that the group had gone to the pond for a swim. However, since Bisu was known to be a good swimmer, the possibility of accidental drowning is being viewed with suspicion.
Family members have alleged that the friends concealed the truth about the incident and informed them late. Police are probing whether personal enmity or any dispute may have led to Bisu’s death.
