Jamshedpur, Oct 21: The West Singhbhum district police observed Police Commemoration Day on Tuesday with solemn tributes to brave personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony, held at the district police headquarters in Chaibasa, was marked by deep respect and remembrance for the martyrs of the police force.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar led the observance, laying wreaths at the Police Memorial along with senior officers and jawans.

The gathering observed a minute’s silence in honour of those who laid down their lives while protecting the nation and maintaining law and order.

Addressing the officers, SP Shekhar said the day stands as a reminder of the courage and dedication of India’s police personnel.

“Their sacrifice inspires us to perform our duty with integrity and compassion,” he said, adding that the department remains committed to the welfare of its personnel and the modernization of policing.

During the ceremony, the names of police martyrs from across the country who lost their lives over the past year were read out, symbolizing the unity and shared commitment of the police fraternity nationwide.

Officers, jawans, and families of police personnel participated in the event, which concluded with the national anthem and floral tributes at the memorial.

The atmosphere was filled with emotion and pride as participants remembered the selfless service and supreme sacrifice of the fallen heroes.
