Jharkhand News: De Nobili School celebrates annual sports meet with over 25 events

Dhanbad, Dec 15: Prem Kumar and Riya Yadav of Class XII were declared the fastest boy and girl sprinters of De Nobili School, Dhanbad, after winning the 100-metre race in their respective categories during the school’s annual sports meet.

The annual sports meet was inaugurated by school director Fr Michael P Fernandes, who attended the event as chief guest. Fr K M Josef SJ was the guest of honour, while principal C S Francis was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the students, the chief guest encouraged them to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and give their best by displaying skill, stamina and discipline on the field.

The event also featured colourful cultural performances by the students, which received warm appreciation from the chief guest, the guest of honour and parents who turned up in large numbers to witness the programme.

More than 25 sporting events were organised during the meet. Xavier House was declared the overall champion, while Arupi House and D Britto House secured the second and third positions respectively. Vice-principal Dolly Prasad conducted the programme, and Tahera Najrin proposed the vote of thanks.
